Ebersberger badminton player for the 30th anniversary promoted for the first time through fortunate circumstances.

Ebersberg – On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the badminton department of TSV Ebersberg, the badminton department made a historic “slip” up to the state stage.

Actually, according to team spokesman Karsten Borgmann, the first team started the past district league season with modest expectations.

Nevertheless: It was by no means as clear as the performance gap between runner-up Ebersberg and the chasing field, led by third-placed TSV Neubiberg-Ottobrunn III, in the final table;

although the two direct duels with Neubiberg each went 6:2 to Ebersberger.

In the beginning was April, rise is in the offing

At the beginning of April, i.e. three weeks before the last matchday, TSV department head Gabriele Schindele locates the internal tipping point.

But Fortuna winked again at the county seat.

"Lohhof can't or doesn't want to get promoted, so we're going straight up to the Bayernliga now," says Borgmann happily.

“Without a relegation round.” However, Borgmann’s team is not tackling the sporting biggest “adventure” since the department was founded in 1992 without question marks.

For example, Matthias Bader is still considering for health reasons whether he can even accompany the Bayernliga premiere.

"Of course we're still trying to convince him, but we will definitely have to change the composition of the team," said Borgmann, who fears losing the strongest men's doubles team in Ebersberg.

"Some clubs have therefore already given up on promotion and we also have doubters in TSV," says Schindele.

“But my tenor was already with our last two promotions: try and gain experience.” Borgmann can only confirm that and adds: “And if the Bayernliga adventure is over after a year, okay.
