Sometimes it seemed this season that nothing would stop Everton from being relegated to the English Premier League, but after several weeks of tough struggles, the Topies secured another season in the best league in the world yesterday (Thursday) when a huge 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace gave them three important points. Vieira kicked a local fan who fell on the grass and is expected to receive a heavy penalty later on from the English Football Association.

Who of course did not hide his feeling was Everton coach - Frank Lampard - who arrived in the middle of the season and stood the task set before him.
"We knew we had to win today, because in the last round we were out against Arsenal, and we knew it would be difficult so once we scored the first goal, the players felt the crowd, we felt this evening, we felt it was a special day," he said. "The fans were amazing. The crowd lifted the players, and together we created a special day in Everton's history."
