Maccabi Haifa players at the championship celebrations (Mavis Chibuta's Instagram)

Jose Rodriguez spoke this morning (Friday) with his associates as well as with fans and made it clear to them that the post he posted last night (Thursday) after the championship celebrations, was not a farewell to Maccabi Haifa.

The Spaniard uploaded a photo from the celebrations and wrote: "I am very proud to play in the best club in Israel and set an example for the club and fans all over the country."

This morning the Spanish contact explained the post.

"It really wasn't a farewell. The whole audience sang to me 'stay' and it moved me, so I wrote it."

Rodriguez even recounted in the same conversations he scheduled a meeting after the cup game with the club heads to get clarifications about his future.

The contact wants to stay in Haifa, but officials at the club said that the professional team is undecided about him.

Barak Bachar appreciates him, but the fact that he and Ali Muhammad play in the exact same position makes him wonder whether it is better to make room for a foreigner in a different position.

    The secret has been revealed

However, in Haifa they stated that it would be difficult to give up a player like Rodriguez, who despite the reports on the subject does not have a clause according to which he will not be able to sign with another team in Israel.

Despite this, in the morning talks, Rodriguez clarified: "In Israel, I will only play for Maccabi Haifa."

The team was disappointed for Ben Shehar who broke his foot comb in training yesterday.

Shehar will not start next season, but will stay at the club.

Now in Haifa, in addition to a foreign striker, they are also looking for an Israeli striker for the staff, and the options at the moment are Nikita Rokavitsia, Guy Melamed or the return of Stav Nachmani on loan to the Galilee landscape.
