Germany is in the quarter-finals of the ice hockey world championships in Finland.
With Denmark's 3-0 (1-0, 1-0, 1-0) against France, the fourth place in the 2021 World Cup can no longer be denied participation in the knockout round again.
Helsinki - “The quarter-finals are all well and good, but every game is important for us.
At the end there is the important indicator against Switzerland - and we want to do it positively," said NHL defender Moritz Seider from the Detroit Red Wings after the 9: 4 against Italy, which had already made the early quarter-finals almost perfect.
In the final group games on Sunday against Kazakhstan (3.20 p.m.) and on Tuesday against Switzerland (11.20 a.m./both Sport1 and MagentaSport), the selection of national coach Toni Söderholm can now further improve their starting position for the quarter-finals next Thursday to the supposedly to avoid the strongest opponents in Group B.
"The teams are getting stronger and stronger when we look at the next week," said Söderholm, who said succinctly about moving into the knockout stages: "It doesn't really mean anything to me.
We have the next game on Sunday.” dpa
