One thing was guaranteed even before the opening whistle of the German Cup final - one of the teams, Red Bull Leipzig or Freiburg, will celebrate its first title.
The feeling was that everyone in Germany, with the exception of Leipzig's fans, was behind the Freiburg underdog, mainly because Leipzig is identified with the huge concern and is therefore considered the most infamous group in the country.

The beginning was accordingly.
Freiburg, pushed by the crowd, took the lead in the 19th minute from a goal by Max Agstein and went down to the half with 0: 1.
In the 57th minute the game continued to go against Leipzig, who were left with ten players after the dismissal of Marcel Halstenberg, but in the 76th minute it was Christopher Anconco who balanced the result and sent the game to extra time without conquests.

In a 1-1 draw, the teams went into a duel from the penalty spot, and it was the nerves of the Leipzig players that withstood the pressure.
After the two misses of the Freiburg players, came the big celebration of Leipzig - it is perhaps the most infamous, but also the happiest.
