11 years of long and tedious waiting came to an end tonight (Sunday).
Milan are again Italian champions after a 0: 3 victory over Sesotho in the final round, the 19th championship in its history and one that few believed would win at the start of the season.
In the last game of the season Milan came up with the young Pierre Calulo and Picao Tumori on defense and with Sandro Tonali, Rada Kronich and Alexis Salmkers in the link.
They are all great players, but not the ones who were marked at the beginning of the season as capable of leading a team to the championship.
This group, along with team stars Theo Hernandez and Rafael Lau, did the job for the last time.
The Portuguese, who is able to break safes with his breaking power, was the man of the match when he cooked up all three goals.
The first two were by Olivier Giroud (17, 32), who strengthened his image as a big-class player and reached ten goals this season.

The third goal was scored by Lao to Frank Cassia who set 0: 3 in the 36th minute and finished the story.
At this point Inter were still 0-0 against Sampdoria, and only in the second half and after digesting that they finished in second place did they complete a 0: 3 victory from goals by Ivan Frisic and two by Joaquin Correa.
Meanwhile at AC Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic came in towards the end of what may have been his last game of his career.
The Swede, who was a partner in Milan's previous win of the championship and returned to it in 2020 with the aim of closing a personal circle with another title, was reportedly injured in the second half of the season and has not scored since January.
The 40-year-old Swede was very determined to take part in last night's game, and after coming in even scored a disqualified goal.
Zlatan eventually closed the circle, as did Milan.
In the last 11 years the team has gone through ups and mostly downs, but thanks to the great team that includes both Foley and Paulo Maldini, it has managed to achieve the title it deserved this season.
Inter may have missed a lot of opportunities, but as Pioli Milan said it was the best throughout the season, and tonight as well.

Unlike the drama of the Premier League, Stefano Fioli's team left no room for tension in the final round of Serie A and made the game between Inter and Sampdoria meaningless.
"We were the best all season and we need to be the best just one more time" said Fioli on the eve of the game against Sesotho, which is exactly what happened.
After eight different coaches - some of them past club legends - failed to recreate what Similano Allegri did in 2011, the 56-year-old coach arrived in October 2019 and managed to decipher this Milan better than his predecessors.
In the first season the Rossoneri finished in sixth place, last season they had already reached the second, and this season they managed to get their hands on the title that moved them away in the last decade to the tenth place in 2015.
With a very balanced staff and no big stars, especially in the face of the injuries of Zlatan and Simon Kier, Fioli has managed to produce a team that is very aware of its capabilities and limitations, and one that over time has gained confidence and self-belief.
