Yarub Al Sharif achieved remarkable results in the local chess championships during his career with the game he started early in his life and proved his worth at the training level since entering this field.
In a statement to SANA, Al-Sharif, 24, said that he started his career in the game at the age of 5 years, aspiring to ascend the podiums and excel in this game, which he considers one of the best means in developing motor, intellectual and visual skills, as he won first place at the governorate level and maintained this position for several years in categories 8 and 10 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years in Homs governorate, in addition to school championships.
Al-Sharif added: I achieved first place in the Republic Championship in 2009 that was held in Aleppo, second place in the Republic Championship in Tartous in 2010, and third place in the Republic Championship in Damascus 2019, and I also won first place in the Syrian Universities Championship more than once, in addition to first place in friendly tournaments.
Al-Sharif pointed out that mastering and training chess is not an easy matter, but rather a long learning process that extends for several years, and that the most important reason for winning the game of chess is to understand the methods of the game and read the way the opponent plays.
Al-Sharif is the youngest international chess coach in Syria, where he obtained an international training certificate in 2018, trained in the Homs Workers Club for 5 years, and is currently training at the Al-Nasr National Club.
