Manchester City became champions on the final day of the Premier League season.
City prevailed in the long-distance duel with Liverpool FC and it happened in thrilling fashion.
The defending champion was still 0:2 behind against Aston Villa with a quarter of an hour to go, and City seemed to be giving up the championship they believed to be secure.
Then the team of coach Pep Guardiola turned on - and the game.
İlkay Gündoğan scored two goals and made City celebrate.
The result of Liverpool FC, with which City fought a long-distance duel, therefore played no role.
Coach Jürgen Klopp's team defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at home and finished the season second.
