After overcoming cancer and returning to the pitches, the Kiryat Ata city coordinator took the team all the way back to the Premier League. • In an interview with Israel Today, he opens everything:

The rise of Kiryat Ata to the Premier League is full of exciting stories, starting with coach Sharon Avrahami who dedicated tears to his father after his mother passed away last year, and through veteran chairman Naftali Bentov who has led the club since the 1970s and has seen his team miss the rise several times .

But the most moving story of all is that of Koren Giorno.

The quarterback who thrilled Israeli basketball when he recovered from cancer and returned to the courts last year was excellent throughout the playoffs, including in the playoffs with a three-pointer that decided the fate of the game and gave the signal for the Blue Celebrations.

"Throughout my entire journey, this is something that is difficult to describe," the actor said in an interview with Israel Today, a few minutes after he broke down in tears of excitement on the parquet floor in Zisman Hall.

"Fills me with an amazing feeling right now, especially great fun I did it with these guys."

Two or three years ago, when you were undergoing a rehabilitation procedure from the complex surgeries and treatments you underwent, did you believe that you would reach such a moment?

"I believed I would come back and do beautiful things, but I never imagined it that far. I did not think I would reach such a moment, and certainly not so fast. It surprises me too. Life is unexpected and full of ups and downs. Remember that life is fragile and tomorrow something can happen to you. It is not up to us, so we should thank you for every moment and enjoy it. "

What went through your body at the final whistle that made you burst into tears?

"This is the first time since I came back to play that I shed tears, it is a record moment that connects to one pure point in me. Everything I went through erupted in me in moments of the final whistle and the celebrations.

"I've been lecturing for a while now and I'll be coming out with a new lecture soon, and the message I'm conveying is that I'm not the story.

"Life is fragile",

"I'm not the story, but the question is what I can give and what the world needs from me. It's something bigger than me. My journey and this championship did not just happen. This success had to happen for others to see, for the story to come out into the world and maybe help someone."

Finally, do you see yourself playing a significant role in the Premier League as well?

"I do not know at the moment how to answer this question. I have a contract and we will sit, think and talk. At the moment I just want to enjoy the moment and not think too far."
