With the end of the school year nearing the end of the school year, swimming lovers are waiting for the start of summer schools at Al-Jalaa swimming pool in Damascus this season to practice their sport under the supervision of a group of training and rescue experts.
SANA’s camera toured the pool and monitored the preparations underway to welcome the new summer season, which brings with it more talents and materials that love swimming from different age groups.
In a statement to SANA, the director of Al-Jalaa swimming pool, Aboud Aboud, said: “Every year we are used to receiving large numbers of children and swimming pioneers of different ages, especially that the pool, with its distinguished cadres, was able over many years to gain the confidence of the largest segment of children’s families to educate their children and develop their talents in this field. Sports, especially the services provided in the swimming pool, and the continuous commitment to cleaners and water filters on a daily basis.”
Abboud added: The swimming pool, with its encouraging prices, is suitable for people with limited income, and the families of martyrs and war wounded are received free of charge, which makes it a destination for many segments of society. The third is 15 meters long and 10 meters wide, and is intended for young age groups.
Abboud added: The pool will receive its visitors on the first of June through swimming courses for children aged 5 to 12 years through two morning and evening shifts under the supervision of a team of high-level lifeguards and trainers, pointing out that at the end of each summer season for training schools in the theater a committee is formed by Swimming Federation to select and develop distinguished talents and support them in the national teams.
One of the training cadres in the swimming pool indicated that the training sessions in the swimming pool run according to specific time programs in five periods, three of which are for the pioneers and two for schools teaching children in the morning and evening, where the child learns the basics of swimming from the beginning, buoyancy and breathing movements under the supervision of experts specialized in these categories, in addition to the presence of six lifeguards in all periods to deal with any emergency.
A number of young children showed their love and attachment to swimming and their ambition to participate in local tournaments and compete for the first places in order to join the national team and represent it externally.
Al-Jalaa swimming pool is one of the oldest swimming pools in Syria. It was established in 1974 and was rehabilitated in 2016 with all its facilities, specifically the infrastructure, and it is maintained periodically.
