Feyenoord's dramatic 2-2 draw against PSV Eindhoven (Sport 1)

In his limited number of appearances in the Feyenoord uniform, Ophir Marciano left an ambivalent impression.

Along with good games and good saves, he also had some weak performances that drew quite a few reviews, but it turns out that at least one fan of the team has already left his mark - literally.

The fan, Pete Moss, tattooed Marciano's name on his leg this week - but not out of admiration for the Israeli goalkeeper, but because of an intervention that went wrong for him.

After it became clear that Feyenoord's senior goalkeeper Justin Beilo was injured and that Marciano would stand between the posts in some crucial games for the team, Moss vowed to "ruin the team's European campaign".

A scenario of qualifying for the Conference League final with Marciano at the gate seemed so absurd to him that he promised to tattoo his left leg above the knee, in Marciano's name and in his shirt number.

To his chagrin or joy, this is exactly what happened and this week he was forced to attend a tattoo parlor that perpetuated his erroneous prediction.

Marciano's name and shirt number also adorn an illustration of the Conference League Cup that Marciano himself will be hoping to swing on Wednesday night.

Moss, for his part, will hope that the tattoo imposed on him will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

His name is etched forever in at least one fan.

In the Netherlands, by the way, Feyenoord coach Arena Slot is being pressured to open with senior goalkeeper Baylow between the posts.

Baylow is returning from a long absence due to injury and has been in full training in recent days, hoping he can open up.

"Baylo should open even if he is 20 percent fit. He is far better than Marciano as long as he is able to walk. He must stand in the gate, even if he sees with only one eye," said Dutch TV commentator Theo Jensen.

Former Feyenoord player Pierre Van Hoydonck added that "Marciano had some not-so-bad moments, but Baylow is known as a great-class goalkeeper. In addition, he is also much better at moving the ball. Marciano will never honestly defend the defense that Bilu instills in her."
