BAYERNLIGA PLAYOFF: Ebersberg wins at MTV Stadeln, which cancels the second leg

Ebersberg/Stadeln – The handball women of TSV EBE Forst United finished the season as Bavarian runners-up.

In their last appearance in the Bayernliga playoffs, the Ebersberg women prevailed at MTV Stadeln with 30:24 (13:11) goals.

As reported, the team around the coaching trio Konstantin Schlosser, Julius Veihelmann and Jonas Habdank had already secured promotion in the previous week.

In the run-up to Ebersberg, however, he had little hope of winning the Bavarian championship.

The distance to the leading TSV Haunstetten II was too big, which could only have been made up if the Swabians lost two and United won two.

However, as expected, Haunstetten's third division reserve won its home game on Saturday against HSV Bergtheim with 31:28 goals, so that the Ebersberger success in Stadeln no longer brought anything in the table.

Information about the cancellation came during the half-time break

In general, the teams all had no desire for handball on Sunday after a long, exhausting season.

The final day of the playoffs was completely canceled due to cancellations and non-attendance and was included in the table with X:0 ratings.

Felix Mäsel, the female division manager at Forst United, had a lot of understanding: "The season was an insane burden for everyone.

And whether you finish sixth or seventh in this round is really of no interest afterwards.”

In the sports hall in Stadeln, the United officials had already been contacted by MTV during the half-time break about the cancellation of Sunday's game.

"We would have still played, but we're also glad that we didn't have to anymore so as not to risk injuries," explained Mäsel.

New players from Ukraine helped to win

And so the appearance in Stadeln was the finale of the runners-up, who had arrived with a "wild, well-mixed squad".

The initial phase was "bad", then the Forst Ladies adjusted to the game without resin.

"We pulled it off effortlessly," said Mäsel, happy about the 30:24 victory, to which the two new players from Ukraine, Yuliia Nechaieva and Dasha Butomo, also contributed.

There was a party on the bus ride home, extra food was bought at a gas station – and now Forst United is looking forward to the big promotion celebration on June 3rd in the Sieghartsburg and the Volksfesthalle.

Ebersberg: Elena Czeslik, Silvia Morath (in goal);

Katharina Fries, Franziska Ebenkofler (1), Lara Becher (3), Lara Lau (5/1), Jasmin Alnajjar (4), Christina Schweiger (6), Steffi Pollak (1), Yuliia Ruslanova Nechaieva (4/1), Dasha Evgenievna Butomo, Sina Fein (2), Lucie Maesel (2), Vivien Schweizer (2).
