Presenter of "19/45" and the program "66 minutes", on M 6, Xavier de Moulins attended this Sunday in Auteuil the victory of the champion
Sel Jem
in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris (Gr. I).
The 50-year-old man with a deep and cheerful voice lived an intense moment that he is not about to forget.
How did you experience this mythical race?
XAVIER DE MOULINS.
Intensely like my two previous Grand Steeple-Chases in Paris.
These are extreme sensations and I vibrated for 6,000 meters.
I ride modestly in training and I find that the jockeys are top athletes who should be in the spotlight more.
It's already intense to perform a canter, so to cover such a long distance with twenty-three obstacles is incredible.
I am amazed with their performance.
Are you surprised by the arrival of this Grand Steeplechase?
Not at all.
My two favorites were
Sel Jem
and
Gex,
the first two in this Grand Steeplechase.
I'm happy for his jockey, Johnny Charron.
He really deserves to be talked about more and to make the front page of Le Parisien
(He laughs)
.
I was also counting on
Gex
because I really like his partner James Reveley.
He's my favorite jumping jockey with Félix de Giles, who rode
Général en Chef.
I didn't hit the trifecta, but the paired is already not bad…
How was your passion for horse riding born?
I started riding when I was 10 years old.
I stopped in 2008 because I got a whiplash while falling.
For 3 years, I have put my foot back in the stirrup and I go up to Anne-Sophie Pacault and Marcel Rolland.
I am also part of the Groupes Performer's & AS team at Anne-Sophie Pacault.
We are thirteen partners and making new acquaintances with this common passion is very nice.
What do horses bring you in your job as a presenter?
They brought me a lot in life.
It helps me a lot to train in my profession.
I can do everything after a morning on horseback.
I am more channeled and I can even interview a President of the Republic.
(He laughs)
.
It is an incredible school of life.
