Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matitsyn announced that his country is working on finding solutions or alternatives to reduce imports of sports equipment.
“We give priority to the issue of import substitution, and I am sure that we will find a solution,” TASS news agency quoted Matitsyn as saying during a round table on import substitution in the field of sports.
The minister indicated that steps have been taken to allow the Ministry of Sports to get out of this crisis in light of the severe pressures and strict sanctions imposed on his country.
It is noteworthy that the International Olympic Committee recommended international sports organizations not to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions.
