Maccabi Haifa's championship celebrations have been going on for over a week throughout the city, but it seems that this is not really accepted by the Hapoel Haifa people.
The club announced this morning (Monday) that owner Yoav Katz has contacted Dr. Saar Harel, director of the Haifa district at the Ministry of Education, to prevent holding Maccabi Haifa championship celebrations planned in schools in the district.
According to Katz's letter, this is "exclusion of Hapoel Haifa fans and vulnerable in their feelings."
A copy of the letter was forwarded to the Mayor of Haifa, Dr. Einat Klish Rotem.
"I would like to inform you of the fact that there are schools in the Haifa district under your management that organize school 'championship celebrations' for Maccabi Haifa winning the championship," the red owner wrote. This information Students have been asked to come to the school dressed in green and 'School' activities are planned on the subject.

"This conduct constitutes an injury to the feelings of students who are not fans of Maccabi Haifa and in particular of Hapoel Haifa fans, many of whom attend the same schools. Beyond that, it constitutes an exclusion of those students due to their sympathy for the team and hence severe social harm.
"I would ask you to address the issue urgently and prevent such celebrations from taking place."
Hapoel Haifa stated that the appeal follows inquiries from parents in schools, whose children experience teasing from children who are fans of Maccabi Haifa.
