The championship celebrations of Maccabi Haifa fans (Shlomo Weiss)
The owner of Hapoel Haifa, Yoav Katz, contacted Dr. Saar Harel, director of the Haifa district at the Ministry of Education, with an urgent request to prevent Maccabi Haifa championship celebrations planned in schools in the district - which excludes Hapoel Haifa fans and hurts their feelings. Haifa received complaints from parents of students who are fans of the group, as well as schools in the authorities near Haifa, such as Kiryat Tivon.

In a letter, a copy of which was sent to the mayor of Haifa, Dr. Einat Klish Rotem, Katz wrote:
From the information that came to us, this was done with the encouragement and organization of school principals.
According to this information, students were asked to come to the school dressed in green and 'school' activities are planned on the subject. "
Katz continued:" This conduct harms the feelings of students who are not fans of Maccabi Haifa and especially Hapoel Haifa fans, many of whom study in the same houses Book.
Beyond that this constitutes an exclusion of those students due to their sympathy for the group and hence to severe social harm.
I would ask you to address the issue urgently and prevent such celebrations. "
