RB Leipzig celebrates its first title by winning the DFB Cup.

At the winner's party, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann suddenly appeared as a surprise guest.

Munich/Leipzig/Berlin – RB Leipzig has bagged the first title in its young club history.

The Saxons won the DFB Cup on penalties against SC Freiburg.

As is well known, you never forget the first time and that's why this success naturally wanted to be duly celebrated.

The Red Bulls threw a big party at an upmarket club in Berlin, and a surprise guest was there too: Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern Munich coach.

FC Bayern: Coach Julian Nagelsmann celebrates with ex-club RB Leipzig DFB Cup party

It was a long cup night.

RB Leipzig initially fought their way into extra time after being outnumbered and then kept their nerve from the point, two Freiburgers failed on penalties.

The handover of the trophy was then delayed due to a medical emergency.

Julian Nagelsmann, who has been a coach at FC Bayern Munich since last summer, was an eyewitness to this dramatic evening in Berlin's Olympic Stadium.

The former Leipzig coach insisted on paying his old club a surprise visit to the Berlin noble club "Pearl" to congratulate them.

The 34-year-old was spotted at the victory celebration, where he talked to Leipzig's managing director Oliver Mintzlaff, among others.

According to eyewitness reports, Nagelsmann did not stay long, as Leipzig confirmed on Sunday.

The

Leipziger Volkszeitung

first reported on it.

FC Bayern: Salihamidzic explains Nagelsmann's visit to the Leipzig party

At the FC Bayern championship celebration a week ago, Nagelsmann did not turn out to be a party beast.

On the contrary: The football coach said he wanted to work immediately afterwards and to plan the preparations for the new season.

However, the trip to Berlin was not a problem for his current employer.

"Absolutely, he knows everyone there - we also talked about it before.

He got the leave.

I couldn't go to the final myself.

I don't think he had any

(transfer talks, editor

Shortly after Nagelsmann took up his duties in Munich, his former captain Marcel Sabitzer also switched from Leipzig to Bayern.

FC Bayern: Nagelsmann remained without a title with RB Leipzig

Nagelsmann was a coach at RB Leipzig from 2019 to 2021 before moving to Bayern Munich.

However, it was not enough for a title in the two years.

The Saxons have now done that without their ex-coach by winning the DFB Cup.

Last year, RB lost to Borussia Dortmund with Nagelsmann on the sidelines in the final.

With Bayern he failed in the second round this season, but won the German championship.

In the hunt for the first trophies, Nagelsmann can continue to rely on the services of Manuel Neuer.

The goalkeeper and captain has extended his Bayern contract.
