In the end, the Saxons won 5:3 after penalties, the jubilation knew no bounds afterwards.

The final caused a lot of discussion about the club, which was only founded in 2009.

For many football fans, RB Leipzig is much more of a commercial enterprise than a football club, which is why there were a number of anti-RB comments, especially on social networks.

The majority of the supporters kept their fingers crossed for SC Freiburg in the final - but it didn't help, in the end Leipzig lifted the pot.

In addition, the hashtags “Cup Winner”, “YouCanDoAnything” and “Brings Wings” were set.

As expected, it didn't take long for fans to riot over the post.

Under the post, reactions such as "Disgusting in every way", "Are you ashamed to desecrate the thing like that" or "Why don't you pee directly in it?

The trophy is worthless forever,” were the rather harmless reactions.
