The magic is back!
And drop shots too.
Something always happens when Hugo Gaston slips on the clay courts of Roland-Garros.
A year and a half after revealing himself to the general public by reaching the round of 16 of the 2020 tournament - stopped in 5 sets by Dominic Thiem -, the Toulousain won (4-6, 6-2, 6 -3, 0-6, 7-6), Tuesday, against the Australian Alex de Minaur in one of the craziest matches since the start of the Paris fortnight.
A festival of sublime points.
After winning the 2nd and 3rd sets, the Frenchman collapses completely.
He sees the points and the games pass by.
His opponent pockets 9 in a row to now lead the debates (4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 0-6, 0-3).
Nothing seems to be able to prevent the Australian from slipping into the second round.

Furious with himself, Gaston breaks a racket in rage at the change of sides.
He loses a racket but finds his game in front of the public of Suzanne-Lenglen in fusion.
He ended up reversing the situation to win after a super tie-break which was inaugurated this year at Roland-Garros.
“It's incredible, you pushed me, this victory is for you, said the French to the public in the middle of a court where he had defeated Stan Wawrinka on October 2, 2020. Thank you.
It was very hard.
He is a very good player but I knew that I could annoy him with the variation of my game. I am very very happy, I drew deep within myself.

Before returning to the locker room, he asked that the public “wish a happy birthday” to his girlfriend.
Everyone started to sing.
A magical moment.
As often with Hugo Gaston.
