RB Leipzig won the cup.
But the SC Freiburg had the sympathies.
This is now becoming very clear again.
Germany – The final in the DFB Cup was remarkable in itself.
Suspense until the last moment and a winner who managed to turn while outnumbered.
From a purely sporting point of view, there is thunderous applause for such a performance.
But it was different in the final between SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig.

RB Leipzig receives silent criticism: the Bundesliga is silent – except for one club
Only one person celebrated the victory: the cup winner himself. The 13-year-old club also knows that RB Leipzig hardly enjoys any sympathy points in the Bundesliga.
The image of Kevin Kampl tipping Red Bull into the DFB Cup enrages the fans and doesn't ensure that the Saxons get more sympathy points.
Christian Heidel, then and now manager of Mainz 05, once openly expressed his regret that an artificially elevated club occupied a place in the Bundesliga.
"It's a shame that a team like that takes one of the 36 places in professional football," he told the
Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday newspaper
in 2007 about promotion to the second division.
DFB Cup: Only TSG Hoffenheim congratulates RB Leipzig on the victory
However, nobody came to the party – except for ex-coach Julian Nagelsmanns.
Even the obligatory congratulations from the Lihga didn't come.
With a silent protest, 16 Bundesliga clubs showed what they think of lawn ball sports.
Hardly any club sent congratulations to Leipzig on the Twitter accounts.
None but one.
TSG Hoffenheim published a tweet congratulating RB Leipzig.
It is less surprising that the club from Sinsheim reported, after all, the village club, which was pushed into the Bundesliga by patron Dietmar Hopp, was also accused of distorting the competition in Germany's elite class.
RB Leipzig is under criticism.
Not even from the DFL there are congratulations on the cup victory.

The way a German winner of the DFB-Pokal was not congratulated is remarkable.
Perhaps it marks a turning point.
The congratulations from the Bundesliga on this day went to the losers from Freiburg or smugly to the cup winners in the state associations: FV Engers or Carl Zeiss Jena.
Bundesliga clubs and the DFL have documented with amazing unanimity that they are not willing to accept a marketing construct in the shirt of a football club as a member.
