Bundesliga promoted Werder Bremen received an Internet shit storm after a malicious tweet in the direction of rival Hamburger SV and deleted the post again.

"Sorry HSV, our tweet about the end of the game was completely inappropriate and unsportsmanlike," the club wrote in response.

“We know from our own experience what emotions are associated with relegation.

We hope that there will soon be northern derbies in the Bundesliga again.«

After the final whistle of the second leg of the relegation, the Werder account published a video showing the promotion celebration of the fans in the Weser Stadium.

"See Hamburg, that's how it's done," they sang.

"It would be really insensitive and not very sensitive if someone were to post this video now..." wrote the club and added a winking smiley.

There was criticism for this on the platform.

Due to a 2-0 defeat against Hertha BSC on Monday, HSV missed out on returning to the Bundesliga.

Bremen had secured direct promotion to Germany's top division on matchday 34.
