West Ham stopper Kurt Zuma has admitted to abusing his cat after he was caught kicking him and contradicting him in February.
The 27-year-old French national team player appeared today (Tuesday) at a hearing in the London Magistrate's Court, who was charged with three offenses under the Animal Cruelty Act in relation to the abuse footage that took place on February 6 and surfaced on social media.
Zuma pleaded guilty to two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, while another charge was dismissed when his sentence was handed down on June 1.
Zuma arrived in court in a car and was accompanied by several security guards, fearing that animal cruelters would want to harm him.
Zuma's younger brother, Yuan, filmed the incident and posted it on the social media app Snapchat.
Zuma could be seen kicking his cat, before throwing a pair of shoes at him and slapping his head.
As you may recall, West Ham fined Zuma two weeks' salary - the maximum amount possible when the incident was discovered, but Hammers manager David Moyes continued to include the player in the squad and received harsh criticism for it.
Also, the cats were taken into custody and Adidas canceled its adoption contract with the player.
