After pyro scandal: Kaiserslautern celebrates promotion – Dynamo Dresden descends

Relegation 2022 - Dynamo Dresden loses the second leg against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
While FCK is now celebrating promotion, the Saxons are relegated:
1. FC Kaiserslautern is back in the 2nd Bundesliga.
FCK narrowly won the relegation second leg at Dynamo Dresden 2-0 (0-0) on Tuesday evening (May 24).
As a result, the Saxons are relegated to the 3rd division after just one year.
The first leg in Kaiserslautern ended goalless last Friday.

The only goals in the sold-out Rudolf Harbig Stadium were scored by Daniel Hanslik (59') and Philipp Hercher (90'+2').

Both fan camps repeatedly ignited pyrotechnics.
The Dynamo fans cause ugly scenes in injury time.
After the guests' second goal, numerous Pyros fly onto the field, which means that the game has to be interrupted.
For 1. FC Kaiserslautern, a long period of suffering ends with the promotion.
In 2018 the Red Devils were relegated to the 3rd division.
Last year, FCK narrowly averted falling into the regional league.
Under Marco Antwerpen, the Betzenberg team stabilized considerably in the past season.

1. FC Kaiserslautern: Schuster leads FCK to the 2nd Bundesliga
After three defeats at the end of the season, however, the football teacher had to go.
Immediately before the relegation, former Darmstadt coach Dirk Schuster took over as coach in Kaiserslautern.
In Dresden, FCK was supported on Tuesday by around 3,000 fans who had traveled with them.
Around 7,500 Lautern supporters cheered on the public viewing in the Fritz Walter Stadium.
"We knew we had a chance, but we also knew that Dynamo was trying everything to stay in the second division," says FCK trainer Dirk Schuster in an interview with Sat.1.
“I want to thank the guys and also Marco Antwerpen who made his contribution.
FCK in the 2nd Bundesliga – that’s a great feeling!”

Dynamo Dresden loses relegation against FCK
Dynamo Dresden, however, is relegated just one year after being promoted again.
The Saxons have not been able to win 19 competitive games in a row with the relegation and are now back in the 3rd division despite a decent first half of the season.
