The European JJIF Alumni Ju Jitsu Championship will open tomorrow (Thursday) at Ein Shira Hall in Nahariya and will last until next Monday.
The prestigious championship will arrive in Israel after being postponed for the past two years (once because of the corona and once because of Operation Wall Guard).
In the championship, we can see the best athletes in the industry - with the strongest teams coming from France, Belgium and Poland
The competition will be attended by about 300 athletes from about 25 countries, and this is the last official competition before the World Games to be held in July, in Birmingham, USA.
In recent years, Israel has become one of the strongest teams in Europe, and as evidence shows, the Israeli team will have 22 athletes - with each country having the right to two competitors of the same weight.
Arik Kaplan, president of the Eilat Association: "I congratulate the association on hosting the competition. I am convinced that this will be a quality competition and that the outstanding athletes will prove their ability in front of the home crowd. I call on sports fans to come and see champions."
Erez Elroy, chairman of the Jiu-Jitsu Association in Israel, said: "I am proud to say that Israel has become a power in the industry in recent years, and we expect this to be reflected in our European Championships in Israel and of course in the World Games in Birmingham, USA."
