The fifth stage of the Grand National du Trot, contested at the Hippodrome des Flandres, in the Lille suburbs, was rich in twists and turns as the two favorites,
Hanna des Molles
(n°12) and
Farrell Seven
(n°5) showed themselves culprits.
The first named in the last turn when she was in second position and the second named, halfway to the finish line fighting for places.
Despite his 50m handicap,
Earl Simon
(n°15) imposed himself with authority and confirms his return to the fore after winning three times in Belgium, following an absence of almost two years.

He left his opponents behind to finish.
I did not see myself a first chance before the blow.
This is proof that we have all worked hard and that we have managed to bring him to the top.
The track has favored him and my boarder hasn't run much despite his 8 years and still wants to give himself.

Franck Ouvrie's partner is clearly ahead
of Freyja du Pont

The next stage of this Tour de France for trotters is scheduled for June 8 at the Laval racecourse (Mayenne).
