The Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, has put an end to the controversy surrounding the possibility of his departure from Liverpool, the runner-up for the English Football League, during the next summer transfer period.
Salah confirmed during a press conference today to talk about the match against Real Madrid next Saturday in the Champions League final that he will remain in Liverpool next season, regardless of his contractual status with the English club.
The Egyptian player said: “I am not thinking about the contract, it is about the team and this is an important week. I want to win the Champions League again,” adding: “I am continuing next season.”
Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2023, and the two parties have been negotiating an extension of the player's contract for many months, without reaching an agreement yet.
The name of Salah has been linked over the past periods to moving to Real Madrid or Barcelona, especially since the player had earlier expressed his thoughts about playing for Real Madrid.
