Steve Kerr has a special relationship with firearms.
His father, Malcolm, was shot dead by an assassin in Beirut in 1984.
Today's NBA trainer has been campaigning for stricter gun rules in the USA, and not just since this traumatic experience.
His Golden State Warriors are currently battling the Dallas Mavericks for a place in the finals of the North American professional basketball league.

There, hours earlier, an assassin had murdered 19 elementary school children.
Unsurprisingly, Kerr didn't want to talk about substitutions and plays in the usual pre-game press conference.
Instead, he became clear to politicians in Washington.
"I'm so tired," said the 56-year-old, close to tears.
'I'm so tired of sitting here sending best wishes to the devastated families.
I'm so tired of the minutes of silence.
Enough!".
During his speech, the former professional basketball player repeatedly pounded the table in front of him.
Your own power more important than human lives
Referring to Republicans, Kerr said, "There are 50 senators currently opposed to voting on HR8.
This is a regulation on gun purchase checks that the House of Representatives passed long ago.
There's a reason they don't vote: to stay in power."
Addressing the Republican minority leader in the Senate, Kerr followed up: "I'm asking you, Mitch McConnell and all the senators (...): 'Do you want to put your own lust for power over the lives of our children, our elders and our churchgoers?' Because then Looks like it.” With the last few examples, Kerr addressed shooting deaths in the states of New York and California over the past few weeks.
Kerr's video went viral on social media.
However, it is doubtful whether it will have the desired effect in Washington.
So far, the Republicans have refused to tighten gun regulations because they fear for voters.
