Even an injury didn't stop him.

Germering – The track season for track and field athletes is in full swing.

A well-known competition in Bavaria is the "Bavaria Top Meeting" in Germering.

Numerous athletes from the district showed remarkable performances there.

We have an overview.

TSV Penzberg:

Andreas Kölbl made a remarkable performance: The man from Sindelsdorf won the 400-meter hurdles and undercut the so-called B standard for the German championship, although he had suffered a torn muscle fiber.

“After the seventh hurdle, my injury from early April broke.

I thought about stopping straight away, but I decided to run through,” said the 27-year-old.

Kölbl really wanted to break the B norm, which he managed to do with 53.62 seconds.

Immediately after crossing the finish line, he limped to the paramedics and had his left thigh bandaged.

There he had suffered a muscle bundle tear on the back at the beginning of April.

This time it was "just" a muscle fiber tear.

"That was my best 400-meter hurdle race of all time up to this point," said annoyed Kolbl.

He and coach Markus Brennauer are hoping for a speedy recovery – especially with regard to the German Championships on June 25th in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

Three Penzbergers were happy in Germering with personal bests over 400 and 200 meters: Julian Herter (U20), Corinna Braun (U20) and Sören Kuschel (U18).

The 18-year-old Herter made a big leap.

The Penzberger improved by 41 hundredths over the stadium lap and crossed the finish line after 51.00 seconds.

The norm for the youth DM (50.50) is now within reach for Herter.

Just three hours after his 400-meter dash, he improved his 200-meter record by a whopping 65 hundredths to 23.14 seconds.

That gave him fourth place in the U20s.

For Corinna Braun, the clock stopped at 59.87 seconds after 400 meters.

She won her time and finished fourth overall.

“In the last 150 meters I noticed that I could still catch up with the others in front of me.

From then on I was really motivated,” said the 18-year-old from Benediktbeuern.

She completed half the stadium lap in 27.23 seconds.

Club colleague Kuschel was seventh over 400 meters (55.23).

In the 200-meter sprint he improved by almost a second to 25.02 seconds - in the U18 he was eleventh.

Numerous record times for Penzberg athletes

Sven Lange (U20) managed to equal his 200 meter best time of 23.73 seconds.

U18 athlete Annemarie Seevogel was a bit disappointed with her 200 meter time (32.19 seconds/16th place).

"Unfortunately, I started much too slowly," said the 17-year-old.

According to TSV Penzberg, Raffieu Deen Johnson was "extremely happy" after his 100 meter sprint.

His best time was 10.76 seconds.

Like Kölbl, he injured his thigh and was unable to complete the last ten meters.

"It's just a strain.

I think I'll be able to continue training soon," said the 22-year-old.

Behind Jonas Hügen (LAC Quelle Fürth/10.60), Johnson shared second place with the 400-meter specialist Vincente Graiani (LG Stadtwerke München).

TSV Peißenberg:

He was the oldie in the Germeringer Stadion, but that didn't bother Frank Osenberg (b. 1966) at all.

And it didn't stop the Peißenberg track and field manager from delivering an excellent performance in the javelin throw.

Osenberg, who was not a competitor in the U18 competition, threw the 700-gram throwing device over the 40-meter mark in four of five attempts.

In the last lap he even got 45.19 meters.

Two weeks earlier he had consistently thrown the 800-gram javelin over 38 meters in cold, wet weather in Schwabmünchen.

With 39.31 meters - achieved in the third attempt - the M55 athlete had surpassed the norm for the senior DM (37.50).
