Munich – The path seems to be mapped out: Mick Schumacher wants to follow in his father's footsteps.
But they are huge, Michael Schumacher became world champion seven times.
Does his son now have what it takes to win the world title?
In the junior classes, Schumi junior has shown that he can win.
He earned his place in Formula 1.
But the next few years will show whether he will become an "ordinary" Formula 1 driver or a real champion.
The year 2022 in particular is groundbreaking, because for the first time he has a car at his disposal that has the potential for a top ten.

After the first six races, however, the conclusion is a bit sobering.
While teammate Kevin Magnussen was already busy collecting points, Schumacher is still without a point.
In Barcelona, too, he clearly missed the goal of "points" with 14th place.

Mick is not an extreme high-flyer like Max Verstappen or Charles Leclerc, Formula 1 expert and ex-driver Marc Surer sees it that way.
"He's someone who learns quickly.
I always like to compare him to Niki Lauda, who was also slower than Prost at the beginning and had to work everything out for himself,” says the Swiss in an interview with

Becoming world champion will not be easy for him.
"Formula 1 currently has so many super talents - and they are all in his generation.
There are drivers like Russell, Norris, Leclerc and Verstappen.
You just know that they will be world champions one day,” explains Surer.
Nevertheless, Mick will become "a good driver".
“But he has to stop throwing the car away.
He still has to get it under control this year, that's for sure," he says.
Surer does not want to rule out a world title.
"He can do a lot with his intelligence, but then everything has to fit and he has to be in the best car."
The pressure on Schumacher will increase with every pointless weekend.
If he wants to be in a Ferrari one day, he has to step up.
