Damascus-SANA
The Syrian woman made her way to the sport of the noble art (boxing) several years ago as a player and today she is proving her worth in the world of arbitration through her participation in judging the championships of the Republic.
SANA’s camera had a stand with a number of boxing referees when covering the Republic Championship for women and girls in Damascus, where they unanimously agreed on the extent of the development of this game and its comprehensiveness for the female category in most governorates.
Al-Hikma Razan Al-Qaseer, who started her career as a player five years ago before turning to arbitration, made it clear in a statement to SANA that boxing is not as the prevailing view among some that it is a sport of strength and violence, but on the contrary, it is a sport concerned with physical fitness as it gives self-confidence, especially in the category of women. This misconception began to fade with the noticeable turnout witnessed by the game halls in the governorates, pointing out that her first participation in arbitration was through the Republic Women's Championship this year, a step towards her ambition to reach the arbitration of world championships.
Wisdom Hanan Kafr Kattari agrees with her colleague about the importance of the female element entering the field of this game, adding that this game has many tactics, artistic movements and Syrian wisdoms who have proven their ability to excel, and we will work to develop our level further to reach our ambition of being with international referees in continental and global tournaments.
For her part, Wisdom Linda Ahmed indicated that female boxing has imposed itself strongly in local championships, in addition to men’s championships.
