Relegation to the district league: SVA trainer Sepp Summerer prepares his team for the second leg

Palzing

– SVA Palzing still has to clear one hurdle in order to be able to call itself a district football club in the coming season.

With a 2-0 win behind them, Palzinger go into the relegation second leg at SC Baldham-Vaterstetten on Sunday (5 p.m.).

"We still want to take this step together," says SVA coach Sepp Summerer before his last game on the Palzinger bench.

Summerer changed his defense in the first relegation duel - and did everything right.

"We didn't play with a back four, but defended with a back three against their two strikers," said Summerer about the defensive formation with Thomas Kaindl, Onur Tas and Max Berndl.

While Kaindl and Tas are regulars, 21-year-old Berndl has only played the full 90 minutes twice since the winter break.

In the duel with Baldham, he was particularly convincing on the defensive.

"Max did really well against the man," Summerer said.

If there is one criticism of Palzinger's performance, it was the game in possession before the half-time break.

"We allowed ourselves too many mistakes.

In terms of play, it wasn't good in the first half," said Summerer.

The midfield center had their opponents well under control with the Radlmaier brothers Marcel and Fabian as well as Louis Goldbrunner.

Marcel Radlmaier's lead after a corner (32nd) also provided security.

"After the break we had more possession and good chances to counterattack," said Summerer.

Jonas Grundmann's 2-0 win, officially counted as an own goal by Niklas Stepanek, gives Palzinger an ideal starting position for the second, decisive duel.

Summerer expects his counterpart on Sunday, SCBV coach Gedi Sugzda, not to start the game with the same starting XI.

"I think he changes players and also changes something tactically.

In Höferth he has a midfielder with more experience in the squad," said Summerer.

Marco Höferth, who played in the regional league for a long time and even appeared three times in the 3rd division for the Bayern amateurs, could slip into the starting XI.

"It's going to be a tough fight.

Because we didn't concede a goal, we've put ourselves in a good position," says Summerer.

The away goals rule applies in relegation.

Palzinger saved their second clean sheet of the season for the best possible moment.

A goal in Baldham and the opponent would have to score four goals.

"But nothing has been decided yet.

We have to get everything out again, ”said Summerer.

He hopes that his personal farewell party will also be a non-relegation party.
