COUNTRY LEAGUE RELEGATION It's what counts on Sunday: Heilbrunn wants to use his chances in Garmisch

Bad Heilbrunn – As nice as the experience was for SV Bad Heilbrunn, the situation is still serious: After the 1: 1 (1: 1) of the state league footballers on Thursday against 1. FC Garmisch-Partenkirchen in front of almost 900 spectators in Heilbrunn the second relegation game is completely open.

Neither team gained a real advantage.

"It's going against the descent," says team spokesman Christoph Hüttl.

“It will be a life and death struggle.

The result of the first game doesn't matter, it's what counts on Sunday.”

Lurking for gaps

At 4 p.m., the Heilbrunners play the second leg against 1. FC in the Gröben stadium.

Only the winner gets the opportunity to fight for relegation in a second relegation round.

The one goal by Garmisch in Heilbrunn - this season the rule still applies that away goals count double in the event of a tie after the first and second leg - doesn't change much about the fact that "it's a completely open game," says Hüttl.

"That would only matter if it was 0-0.

And we need a goal anyway, we have to win!”

The first leg on Thursday showed that the balance of power is at eye level.

Garmisch did not necessarily show any defensive weakness.

On the contrary, says Hüttl: “They sometimes defended it very well.

But so do we.” Because even if the Garmisch team dropped deeply – as soon as they appeared in front of the Heilbrunner Tor on the counterattack, danger was imminent.

Players like Moritz Müller - who scored the 1-0 - can sometimes simply not be defended if the ball falls happily at their feet.

"But I don't care who appears in front of me," says the Heilbrunner keeper.

"I try to be there when the opponent breaks through."

First stable defence, then possibly more offensive personnel

It is possible that Garmisch won't be quite as deep in their home game and will act a little more offensively.

Heilbrunn initially relied on stability in defense, probably starting with the usual back four, in order to possibly switch back to more offensive personnel after the break.

And then they lurk for gaps in the defense.

"We had our chances in the first game too," says Hüttl.

Hüttl: "Garmisch didn't exactly get through the second half of the season in a glorious way"

The nervousness – it can probably be felt again in both teams.

“The people of Garmisch were unsettled.

They didn't exactly come through the second half of the season in a glorious way either," teased Hüttl.

The people of Heilbrunn sat together for a long time after the first leg and reviewed the 90 minutes.

And they came to the realization that they can be happy and content for once.

"I'm happy that we played well at home," says Hüttl.

And that they couldn't play a game in front of so many spectators in a long time.

"And we are optimistic that we can manage to win against Garmisch."
