Karim Benzema scores goals like a conveyor belt at Real Madrid.

But why does the striker always play with a bandage on his right hand?

Madrid - He's getting older - and getting better!

Karim Benzema is like a fine wine.

He consistently scores for Real Madrid year after year, and this season he's continued to build his legendary status.

The French could be relied on, especially in the Champions League.

With 15 goals, the 34-year-old led the royals to the final (all TV information about the duel against Liverpool).

By the final he had scored in nine of eleven matches, in the knockout stages he almost single-handedly eliminated the heavyweights of Europe: three goals in the round of 16 second leg against Paris, four in the quarter-finals against Chelsea and then another three goals in the semi-finals -Meetings against Manchester City.

An unbelievable rate!

For many, Benzema is therefore already the next world footballer.

The four-time premier class winner (all Champions League winners in the overview) has also delivered in the league, contributing 27 goals in 32 games.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo's departure in 2018, Benzema has finally had a starring role in Real Madrid's game.

Before that, he was always just the striker, who has always scored goals, but was never the big player in Madrid.

In the meantime, that has changed.

What is unlikely to change is Benzema's appearance at the games.

Whether at Real Madrid or in the French national team.

The striker has always played with a bandage on his right hand for years.

Injury?

It was January 13, 2019, Real Madrid were playing LaLiga at Real Betis Sevilla.

Los Blancos won the game 2-1 but Benzema was not unscathed.

In a duel with former Dortmund player Marc Bartra, he broke the little finger on his right hand.

Surgery was actually supposed to follow, but the Frenchman didn't feel like taking a forced break - and so he postponed his injury.

Only at the end of the season did he have the operation, until then he was already playing with his bandage.

Karim Benzema's broken finger: since then he has had a bandage on his hand

After the operation on the hand, Benzema should have taken a break again, but again he didn't believe in regeneration.

The hand was immediately affected again, and since then Benzema hasn't even thought about playing without a bandage.

So his finger is at least a little better protected and further injuries are a little less likely.

There are hardly any pictures showing Benzema's fingers since the break.

But some things are circulating on the net - and the fans should have been aware of why the little finger of the right hand should be protected at the latest since the photo that the real star shared on Twitter in March 2022.

Benzema can no longer bend it completely, it always sticks out a little from the rest of the hand.

In duels, in which the defenders try to stop him by any means necessary and constantly pull and tug at him, this is of course a handicap - which he can solve with the bandage.
