PSG: the U17s sink against Toulouse in the semi-finals of the championship

2022-05-28T15:13:37.724Z

The young Parisian shoots were completely outclassed by the Toulouse Pitchouns in Borgo, Corsica (4-1).

No national final for Parisian under-17s.

Opposed in the semi-finals to Toulouse, who had finished well ahead of Group E during the regular season and who had eliminated Losc in the quarter-finals, the Parisians never competed and conceded a very heavy defeat to close their season (4-1).

Two jewels and exhausted Parisians

The debates have long been lively, however.

In the first period, the band of Ethan Mbappé, Étienne Michut and Ilyes Housni first collided with the purple block, before cracking in the space of 15 minutes.

The first goal comes from a long touch on the left side recovered by Noah Edjouma in the area (1-0, 31st), very quickly followed by the second signed Amadou Camara, who took advantage of a moment of wandering from the Parisian defense (2-0, 33rd).

Just before the break, Elyess Dao drove home the point with a superb curling shot from the left side, which Desthyron Nkounkou couldn't do anything about (3-0, 45').

On returning from the locker room, the Parisians believe they will relaunch the match by very quickly returning to the score, Queyrell Tchicamboud being at the conclusion of an action on which the Parisians took advantage of the breakdown of Ylies Aradj to strike (3-1, 47th) .

The hope was short-lived: shortly after the hour mark, it was Mathis Saka's turn to put his name on the scoreboard with a sublime shot from 30m, unstoppable for Nkounkou (4- 1, 64e).

Once again relegated to three goals from the Violets, the Parisians, visibly exhausted, then seemed to completely let go of the meeting, letting themselves be carried around by the Toulouse without necessarily trying to fight.

For the Parisians, it is therefore the end of a long season on the verge of the championship final.

Toulouse, for its part, will have the opportunity to be the first team since 2019 to put its name on the list of winners of this competition after a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19.

They will face the winner of the other semi-final, which is played at 6 p.m. between Ajaccio and Lyon.

The only club to have placed its U17 and U19 sections in the semi-finals of the national championships, PSG still has hope of snagging a title among young people with its under-19s, wide winners of Toulouse last week in the quarter-finals (6-1) and who face Monaco this Sunday at 3 p.m.
