Race winner Sergio Pérez and third-placed Max Verstappen were accused by the Scuderia of cutting the yellow line on the pit exit, gaining a valuable advantage over Spaniard Carlos Sainz, second in the GP and his teammate, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, who failed at the foot of the podium.
If the marshals had given reason to Ferrari by inflicting a penalty of 5 seconds on Red Bull, Sergio Pérez would then have lost his victory and Max Verstappen his podium.
Carlos Sainz would then have signed the first victory of his career on the green carpet and Charles Leclerc would have recovered second place in "his" Grand Prix.
