Maccabi Tel Aviv is in the midst of a championship battle in the Premier League, but is already thinking about next season.
According to a report in the Greek "SDNA", on the yellow side of Tel Aviv the leading candidate for the position of coach was and remains Xavi Pascual.
However, to bring the Spanish coach to the hall, the national champion will have to pay twice - both his salary, which is considered higher than that of other candidates, and considerable compensation for allowing the contract of Baznit St. Petersburg, where Pascual signed for another two years.
In addition, at this stage it seems that the candidacy of Andrea Trinkieri also involves difficulties, as Bayern Munich is not willing to hear about the possibility of giving it up.
Because of this, they claimed in Greece, Maccabi Tel Aviv is considering three more European candidates - and even met with two of them during the Euroleague Final Four in Belgrade.

The first is 36-year-old Dusan Alimpayevich, who was named coach of the EuroCup this season after leading Turkish side Bursaspor to the final at the same factory, and previously worked for the Red Star Belgrade.
"SDNA" states that of the three candidates, Olimpayevich is the one who receives the most appreciation.
The other is Zevzdan Mitrovic, with whom the Yellows' representatives in the Serbian capital also met.
The Montenegrin coach ended his tenure at Monaco over the past season, largely due to the shaky relationship between him and team star Mike James, but has recorded fine achievements on the red-and-white lines.
The third name mentioned in the report is particularly surprising: this is Pablo Lasso, the coach of Real Madrid who has just led the Blancos to the Euroleague final after a crushing 0: 3 over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the playoffs.
Of course the candidacy of the esteemed Spaniard depends on one important thing: that he will not continue at Real Madrid.
Greece have argued that if Lasso decides to move on, the Yellows will offer him a long-term contract.

Throughout the last period, Maccabi has not ruled out the option that Avi Even will continue, but continues to examine options for a European coach.
It is important to note that such a coach will have to meet the conditions of the Ministry of Sports so that inexperienced coaches at the highest European level will not get a work permit.
