Bar-On began his career on the sports channel in 1994 and quickly became one of the favorite people on screen in terms of world football fans.

Throughout his years on the sports channel, Bar-On has also hosted a host of magazine programs and news beyond his massive involvement in the Champions League.

Just as he became so identified with the Champions League and also with Israeli football, Bar-On was known as a Hapoel Haifa fan.

Although he was born in Kiryat Tivon, as a child his family moved to the city of Carmel and there his love for the city's red team developed.

In recent years he has expressed support for the Hapoel Ruby Shapira Haifa fan group and in 2013 he was also part of a fan organization that tried to transfer the Hapoel Haifa youth team to its management.



In the broadcast of the Champions League final on Saturday on the sports channel, Modi Bar-On broadcast an article ahead of the meeting between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

"Moody was supposed to be here with us, our beloved friend who built the Champions League broadcasts in his image and imagery. It was important to us that he take part in the game broadcast so here's his point of view," said presenter Miri Nevo and immediately afterwards Moody's voice was heard.
