Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich – immediately.

On Monday, the Pole replied with his own version of Basta to the "Basta!"

»My story at FC Bayern is over.

It is clear to me that the transfer is the best solution for both sides,” said the Polish striker at a national team press conference in Warsaw.

"After everything that has happened in the last few months, I can't imagine further good cooperation," said the 33-year-old Bundesliga top scorer.

And: “Bayern is a serious club.

I hope he won't hold me just because he can."

Kahn's answer was not long in coming.

'I can't tell you why Robert chose this path.

Public statements like that don't get you anywhere.

Robert became world footballer here twice in a row - I think he should know what he has at Bayern," said the Bayern boss on TV station Sport1.

Lewandowski himself announced after the last league game of the season that he wanted to leave the German record champions.

A lack of appreciation on the part of Munich should be a reason for his desire to separate.

Kahn now replied: Appreciation is “not a one-way street”.

The transfer poker had come to a head in the last few weeks.

Statements by Lewandowski and his advisor Pini Zahavi that they had not received an offer to extend their contract in Munich were firmly contradicted by sports director Hasan Salihamidžić and Kahn.
