Munich – FC Bayern Munich had to watch last Saturday as two ex-players, David Alaba and Toni Kroos, won the Champions League, even if Kroos subsequently messed with ZDF.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti also worked at Säbener Strasse.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the record champion's longtime sports director, has now commented on the ex-Bayern's successes.

"Carlo is a great person." The Italian likes to eat and drink red wine.

"I'm close friends with him," reveals Rummenigge.
His performance in the final also earned him respect: "He played tactically well in the final."
The Lippstadt resident was still a bit surprised.
"A year ago, many would have shaken their heads" at the thought of Ancelotti winning the title with Real.

“As for David, I regret his departure.

“You can see that this part is missing at Bayern.
That's something I'm sorry about," admits the 66-year-old.

Alaba is considered the most valuable free transfer in history, Real Madrid is said to have lured him to Chamartín with a signing fee of 17.7 million euros.
Money is also said to have played a role in Toni Kroos.

Rummenigge: Kroos sale satisfactory for both sides
"His advisor made high demands on FC Bayern," Rummenigge recalls in 2014, when Kroos switched to Real Madrid for a reported 25 million euros.
"We weren't able to meet these high demands in this context," explains the Westphalian.
"That's why he decided to leave the club." Rummenigge mentions Kroos' five Champions League victories and sums it up: "He did everything right, but Bayern didn't do everything wrong either."
He described the transfer fee as “very decent” for the conditions at the time.
Both sides can be satisfied.
After a lot of praise for the achievements and successes of the 32-year-old, Rummenigge couldn't resist putting Kroos' achievements into perspective.
"Of course it's also an extraordinary club where he plays.
That will of course also have helped him a bit with his collection of titles.”
After Kroos and Alaba, the story of another top performer at Bayern could end with a move to Spain.
