According to Tunisia, an Israeli athlete is prevented from taking part in a triathlon competition in the city of Hammamet.
The Ministry of Sports has taken appropriate precautions in coordination with the Tunisian Triathlon Association, said a ministry spokesman.
The name of the athlete Hagar Cohen Kalif was listed as a participant on the official website of the triathlon association.
Tunisia has now published a list of countries whose athletes are taking part in the competition.
Israel isn't into it.
The triathlon association has not yet commented on the incident on request.
Israel and Tunisia do not have diplomatic relations.
The Tunisian Ministry of Sport sees itself in line with the national line, which rejects normalizing relations with Israel.
Instead, support the "brotherly" people of the Palestinians.
Israeli citizens recently traveled to the country with organized tours for a pilgrimage of Jews from all over the world to a synagogue on the holiday island of Djerba.
Israeli athletes have repeatedly struggled with discrimination in international competitions.
Arab and Iranian athletes also often refuse to compete with Israelis for political reasons – or are pressured into it.
