When they organized the first edition of the air show in 1970 under the slightly baroque name of Fête aéro-folklorique, the enthusiasts of the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis never imagined finding themselves at the head of the organization one day. of one of the most prestigious air shows in Europe.

Half a century later, the heirs of the merry team continue the mission launched by their elders in the green and bucolic setting of the Cerny/La Ferté-Alais aerodrome (Essonne) for a show with a unique atmosphere and incomparable charm on June 4 and 5.

The meeting takes place in a green setting in Essonne.

The list of demonstration devices is renewed every year, but the basic formula remains the same.

On the program for these two days of celebration: a dive into the history of aviation ranging from the frail Caudron, a single-engine French Air Force aircraft used during the First World War, to the deafening Rafale, flagship of the Marine Nationale while passing by the mythical Spitfire of the Royal Air Force or the emblematic Chance Vought F4U Corsair of Pappy Boyington.

A succession of paintings that spectators will be able to see scroll through the air during these two afternoons devoted to flight.

More than five hours of demonstration commented from the ground with a hundred devices in total each day.

A quiet morning to observe the aircraft on the ground

During the morning, more peacefully, the public will have been able to stroll on the grassy expanses of the aerodrome, zigzagging among these old cuckoo clocks, sometimes exceptional collector's items, taking the time to chat with the mechanics and collectors.

It will also sometimes be possible to board the aircraft before going for a family picnic on the grass.

An appetizer that whets the appetite before getting to the heart of the matter and finally seeing the “beasts” in action in the air.

40,000 spectators are expected over two days.

Let us mention, without opening the treasure box too wide, the reconstruction of the attack on Pearl Harbour.

Ten T-6 Texan will be out to simulate the attack of December 7, 1941 in Hawaii, precipitating the entry of the United States into the war.

A visual and sound fireworks display with impressive pyrotechnic effects and thrills guaranteed for any self-respecting history lover.

The Patrouille de France and aerobatics

There will certainly also be some shivers in the public during the passage of the Patrouille de France and the Alpha Jets, flagships of the Air Force and national pride, but also some cold sweats as they savor the crazy but controlled acrobatics of the hand of mastered by the pilots of the Air Force's aerobatic team, high-level athletes subjected to pressures equivalent to those experienced by Formula 1 pilots. The aerial arabesques of a helicopter, the Bölkow BO 105 , should also have a small effect on the ground with the 40,000 spectators full of emotions.
