The Israeli team hopes to open tonight (Thursday) on the right foot the League of Nations campaign in a home game against the Icelandic team at the municipal stadium in Haifa.
This is the first of three games in the campaign that will take place in less than two weeks, when on June 10 the blue-and-whites will be hosted in Albania, and three days later they will play an away game against the same Iceland.
Miguel Vitor, who received official approval to play for the Israeli national team, came up in the host's 11 and is making his national team debut, as well as Doron Leidner who was bounced off the young national team.
Eden Kartzev and Muhammad Abu Fani are also starting in the lineup of Alon Hazan, who is on the lines for the first time as a permanent coach.
Sean Weissman, who earlier this week was still playing in the Valladolid uniform in Spain, is waiting on the bench.
