Former American basketball player Nate Miller passed away today (Saturday) at his home in the United States, after an asthma attack, according to reports coming from his homeland.
Many players and coaches who were partners in Miller's journey in Israel were shocked by the news, and reacted with astonishment to the player's Facebook page.
Miller, 34 at the time of his death, was one of the best-known players in the National League in the previous decade, and was selected by the "Bench" website for the top five of the second division two decades ago.

The player, a graduate of Boaling Green University in 2009, came to Israel in 2011 to the small Maccabi Beer Yaakov, and led it to the final series of the National League, where he was stopped by Hapoel Tel Aviv.
In the summer of 2013, Miller signed with Nahariya and was one of the stars of the team that eventually rose to the Premier League, when the following season he served as the team captain in the Premier League.
After just 11 games, he was badly injured when he tore his Achilles tendon - and ended the season.
His coach in Nahariya, Roi Hagai, signed him for Ramat Gan during the 2015/16 season, but Miller was unable to help the team advance to the league.
He has spent the last three seasons of his career in the South Korean league with Olsen, Incheon and Seoul.
