Berlin - On Tuesday it's that time again: For the German national soccer team, the classic against England is on the program.

The third game in the Nations League follows in Hungary at the weekend.

The DFB juniors are also challenged.

In the World Cup host country Qatar, the end of the World Cup qualification begins - that's also interesting from a German point of view.

National team

The 1-1 draw at the weakening European champions Italy left a lot to be desired at the start of the Nations League.

Already on Tuesday (8.45 p.m. / ZDF) there will be the next game in Munich against old rivals England.

"It's now about making things better," said national coach Hansi Flick in Bologna.

And it's also about revenge for the defeat in the previous encounter.

The 0: 2 in Wembley was the last game in the era of Flick's predecessor Joachim Löw a year ago.

The DFB selection only made it into the round of 16 thanks to the difficult 2-2 win against Hungary.

The Hungarians - on Saturday 1-0 winners over England - are the next German opponents on Saturday (8.45 p.m. / RTL) in Budapest.

U21

The final game on Tuesday in Poland is no longer about qualifying for the European Championship for the German juniors; the U21 team has secured their place in next year's finals after beating Hungary 4-0 last Friday.

Against Poland, however, there was a bitter defeat at home at 0: 4.

Coach Antonio Di Salvo sees the defeat as a turning point in qualifying.

"We definitely want our revenge," said midfielder Angelo Stiller, who was injured against Hungary.

World Cup Qualification

After the conclusion of the World Cup qualifiers in Europe, host country Qatar is now at stake for the last places for the finals from 21 November.

On Tuesday, the United Arab Emirates and Australia will play Peru's opponents in the intercontinental decider on June 13.

On June 14, Costa Rica and New Zealand will then determine the 32nd and last World Cup participant.

In addition to Spain and Japan, the winner of this game is also an opponent of the DFB selection.

In Bellinzona, Switzerland, former top officials Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini have to answer for themselves.

The trial before the Federal Criminal Court for fraud and other offenses against former FIFA President Blatter and former UEFA boss Platini begins on Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Blatter unlawfully approved a FIFA payment of two million Swiss francs plus social security contributions to Platini.

Both deny the allegations.

The trial days are scheduled to last until June 22nd, and a verdict is to be announced on July 8th.

Apart from the current games with their national teams, Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mané remain in focus.

The Polish striker wants to leave Bayern Munich in the summer, the Senegalese may come from Liverpool.
