Ten days before the start of the World Swimming Championships in Budapest - the peak event of the industry this year, an open training for the Israeli media was held today (Tuesday).
"A world championship is always a big and fascinating event," said union chairman Mickey Halika.
"As a strategic decision, we give the European Championship greater importance because it is held during the season."

"The goals themselves as I say all the time are to get to the qualifiers and move on to the next stage, where you have to move on and then the sky is the limit. It's hard to predict what will happen, but I can say that the whole team is in great shape."
Is it possible to build on the significant achievement of Anastasia Gurbanko?
"She is a very high-level swimmer, no matter what you do. It is true that the Russian team does not come, but in the anointings she swims - either she is better than the Russians, or there are no Russians approaching her. Most of the competition is with others."
The squad for the Israeli World Swimming Championships to be held in Budapest in June will have 14 female and male swimmers, as determined by the team's professional team led by David Marsh and Ehud Segal, in addition to three open water swimmers and 11 artistic swimmers.
