A week before the opening of the European Championships in Artistic Gymnastics in Tel Aviv, the preparations for one of the biggest sporting events in Israel in recent years officially began today (Wednesday) and constitute the opening shot in the industry on the way to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In booth 2 at the Expo, which previously hosted the Eurovision Song Contest and the European Judo Championships, the grandstands with thousands of seats, the heating area, a large screen on which the results and order of the competitions will be projected and at the end will of course be the competition area.
On Sunday, hundreds of gymnasts from 39 countries will arrive in Israel, and the next day the training will begin.
The qualifiers will take place on Wednesday in the junior and on Friday the senior athletes will also participate, most of whom we will also be able to see at the upcoming Olympics.
In terms of ticket sales rate, entire areas for the finals are already occupied to zero, so the union has opened another area, which was not planned in advance, to allow as many spectators as possible to get an impression of the industry that brought Israel the gold medal in Tokyo.
The Israeli team will compete under the leadership of head national coach Ayelet Sussman, along with three coaches Ella Smolov, Natasha Stepanova and Natalie Malka, assistant coaches Ida Meirin and Alona Koshevetsky and team manager Natasha Asmolov.
The team will include Daria Atmanov and Adi Katz in the personal senior category.
The band's gymnasts in the group senior category: Hadar Friedman, Ofir Shaham, Diana Svertsov, Shani Baknov, Rumi Paritzky, Amit Hedvat, Emily Malka, Michaela Moshe and Shani Katiev.
