Wolfganger Freude: After the opening goal by Luca Lamprecht, the TSV attachment raged.

In the end, the A-Classist lost to FC Finsing 2 on penalties.

It should be happier today.

Today there will probably be a good 1000 spectators in Dorfen again.

There, FC Hörgersdorf and TSV St. Wolfgang are fighting for the last chance for a ticket to the district class.

The loser is out, the winner then has one more game.

Wolfgang

– The football district is looking forward to relegation games.

The two teams, who meet in Dorfen at 6.30 p.m. today, would have liked to have avoided this game.

Both TSV St. Wolfgang and FC Hörgersdorf already had a chance at a ticket for the district class 2022/23.

It was snatched from both hands at the last moment: once by Fortuna, once by a drunk spectator.

The abandonment of the game when they were in the lead in the 92nd minute, the replay in thunder and constant rain – FCH has had a very special relegation rally.

The team was always accompanied by over 1000 spectators.

"It's unique in Bavaria," agrees coach Hans-Peter Walter, who also raves about the mentality of his players.

For example, from the nine kickers who postponed their bachelor party tour by a day, although they stayed on the hotel bills.

But also from Felix Stocklauser, who actually gave up, but then made himself available again.

Today, however, he is no longer there, says Walter.

Instead, Georg Strohmaier returns to the squad.

However, the coach could not say anything about battered or injured players.

So he wanted to wait for the final training session on Tuesday.

"Of course, the two games are in the bones," he says, "and also in the head."

So far, his team has put away all injustices and adversities.

But that is also a quality that he knows from TSV St. Wolfgang.

“This team never gives up.

It is very similar to ours.

In addition, TSV played an outstanding second half of the season.”

In fact, the Wolfganger were already considered defeated after the preliminary round, but then outperformed teams like TSV Grüntegernbach and FSV Steinkirchen to intercept TSV Dorfen 2 in a direct comparison in the last game of the season, which is why football boss Bernhard Deuschl says.

"FC Hörgersdorf can play relegation games, the team proved that three years ago against Altenerding and now against Türkgücü - but so do we."

Because TSV not only showed its class in the away win in Dorfen.

Even in the first relegation game against FC Finsing, he was always on an equal footing with the district class players.

In the end, a penalty shoot-out decided against the vice-champion of the A-class 8. Bitter, but of course not to be compared with the bad luck in Hörgersdorf.

"That was the absolute worst case scenario," agrees Deuschl.

"In my opinion, there was no more sportingly fair solution possible.

But I don't want to judge that, enough has already been said about that."

The postponements also brought the people of Wolfgang problems because of possible vacationers.

"And the fact that the lap is now so long, we will probably feel, especially in the coming season." But now Deuschl is looking forward to today's cracker in Dorfen in front of an imposing backdrop, which is sure to be impressive again.

He doesn't believe that Hörgersdorf's history has a major impact on today's game.

“That is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage.

In the relegation, the day's form decides.” Deuschl has seen both FCH games and knows about the dynamics that Hörgersdorfer can build up.

"They will make the game hectic, so we mustn't let ourselves be infected." In terms of personnel, things are looking good at TSV.

Lukas Loidl is fit again, and Deuschl himself can intervene again.

Alex Stauch is on vacation.

"But we are very well staffed," says Deusch.

“We trained again on Monday.

We're hot for the game."
