It is done !
After several days of discussions, QRM has come to an agreement with Olivier Echouafni.
According to our information, the former PSG women's coach, free since his departure last year, signed this Tuesday with the Ligue 2 resident club. He succeeds Fabien Mercadal who, after pocketing the maintenance at the end play-offs, chose to step down as coach "for personal reasons" despite a contract that ran until 2023.
Passed by Nice or Rennes as a player, Olivier Echouafni has not trained with the boys since his adventure at the head of Sochaux during the 2014-2015 season.
He then took the reins of the French women's team, replacing Philippe Bergeroo, before giving up the coach's chair to Corinne Deacon and leaving for PSG.
A three-year long adventure (2018-2021) which ended with a first title of champion of France for the Parisian women's section at the end of the 2020-2021 financial year.
Olivier Echouafni was the number 1 choice of the leaders of QRM who had also checked the name of another technician on his final list, whose identity has not filtered.
Ultimately, it is therefore the native of Menton (Alpes-Maritimes) who will take up the challenge.
His arrival at QRM should soon be formalized.
