Valencia FC signs Gennaro Gattuso
The Spanish first division club FC Valencia has signed the Italian ex-world champion Gennaro Gattuso as their new coach.
The club posted a photo of Gattuso embracing the spectators at Mestalla Stadium on Twitter.
The 44-year-old, who coached SSC Napoli until the summer of 2021, is the successor to Pepe Bordalas, who was fired last Friday.
»I am very proud and happy to have signed a contract with a traditional club.
The tifosi are excited and so am I,” Gattuso said.
Lyon bring Lacazette back from Arsenal
Former French champions Olympique Lyon have joined Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, who returns to OL on a free transfer and has signed a contract until 30 June 2025.
The 31-year-old moved from Lyon to London in 2017 for a fee of 60 million euros.
1. FC Magdeburg brings Schalke Leonardo Scienza
Second division club 1. FC Magdeburg has signed Leonardo Scienza.
As the club announced, the 23-year-old comes from FC Schalke 04 II. Scienza played from 2016 to 2018 for the youth teams of Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, Clube Esportivo Lajeadense (both Brazil) and Defensor SC (Uruguay).
At Clube Esportivo Lajeadense he made the leap to the men's division in January 2018.
A year later, Scienza moved to Europe to join the Swedish club Fanna BK.
In late summer 2020 he switched to FC Schalke 04, where he was part of the extended professional team.
However, he could not book an assignment in the 1st team.

Florence courts Grillitsch
After leaving Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, Austrian national player Florian Grillitsch is being courted by Italian first division club AC Florenz.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old has a four-year contract with a salary of 2.1 million euros a year.
Previously, Lazio Rom had also opted for the midfielder, whose contract at Hoffenheim expires in the summer.
There were also rumors about offers for Grillitsch from Spain and England.
