Sarabia offers its first success to Spain

Author of a very good season under the colors of Sporting, where he was loaned by PSG, Pablo Sarabia stood out on Thursday evening during Spain's victory in Geneva (0-1).

The Spanish winger opened the scoring in the 13th minute on a pass from Marco Llorente after good pressing from Ferran Torres.

Sarabia then had another chance on a good center on the ground from Jordi Alba but his shot from the left in first intention went over (29th).

In the second half, he struggled more like his whole team and was replaced in the 63rd minute.

His goal allows La Roja to obtain its first success in this League of Nations and to take second place in the group from the Czech Republic.

Morata, the essential piece

The Juventus striker has done very important behind-the-scenes work for his team.

He could not stand out on the offensive level but brought a lot to his partners in the construction of the game and the control of the ball.

Morata was essential in a pivotal role as he allowed the Spanish block to stay high in the first period with always very fair discounts.

His body game allowed him to direct the game and serve as a point of fixation to raise the block and develop the game in the opposing camp.

Alvaro Morata won 7 of his 9 duels and suffered no less than 7 fouls in this match.

An essential link in the Spanish formation of Luis Henrique.

Pau Torres imposes himself as a taulier

The Villarreal defender, author of a huge season, especially in the Champions League, confirms his potential at the highest level.

Lacking defensive leaders since the departures of Ramos and Pique, La Roja may have found the lucky winner.

Pau Torres touched no less than 117 balls and completed 97% of his passes.

Fast and well placed, the 25-year-old defender is above all very calm when it comes to making the game. Ball-to-the-foot climbs with interesting risk-taking that allowed his team to raise the block.

A solid match from the Villarreal player who is likely to attract many teams this summer.

FLOPS

Manuel Akanji in default

The central defender of Borussia Dortmund had a very difficult evening against the Spaniards.

Very in difficulty against Morata who stalled a lot, the defender of the Nati never took the measure of his opponent.

He won only one duel out of five disputed, lost 6 balls and committed four fouls, the last of which on Morata in the 67th minute earned him a warning.

An execrable match that will soon be forgotten.

The Nati in big trouble

The Swiss have confirmed their difficulties in this League of Nations.

After two defeats against the Czechs and against the Portuguese, the Swiss lost in the third match against La Roja.

On their lawn in Geneva, Murat Yakin's men showed almost nothing.

The Nati was dominated in the first period with a very low block and was punished by a goal from Sarabia (13th).

The Swiss then reacted a little in the second half without being really dangerous in front of their public.

The Nati remains on 5 games without a win with a very negative record of four defeats and a draw and ranks dead last in its Nations League group with 0 points.
